You become the blue-winged dragon Atrushan and respond to Tamryn's horn, heading towards Ish-Burn. This story begins when you land on the Hill of Prayers.
First, search for Tamryn. As the story progresses, you will be helped by many people and, at times, act alongside them. The characters who join your party are essential for the progression of the story. If they die during combat, the game will end, and you will need to restart from your last save point.
During gameplay, you can access the main menu by pressing the ESC key or CLR key while on the field.
Here, we will explain the items you will acquire as the story progresses. Be sure to check what each item you obtain is.
In this game, the items used by characters are divided into the following categories:
Among these, only items can be owned by Atlushan, and there are no limits on the number they can carry. Additionally, they cannot be bought or sold. As the story progresses, the number of items will increase. The other five categories (Weapons, Armor, Shields, Helmets, and Tools) can be carried by each party member, with a maximum of 8 items per character, and can be bought and sold.
The character's parameters will be displayed.
The screen is divided into two pages, and you can switch to the next page by pressing a key.
The first page shows a list of parameters, with the numbers on the right representing the base values, and the numbers on the left reflecting the values adjusted by weapons and armor parameters.
INT | Intelligence | The higher the value, the greater the success rate and resistance to magic. |
---|---|---|
STR | Strength | Determines the amount of damage dealt to the enemy when an attack is successful. |
DEF | Defense | Reduces the damage taken from enemy attacks. |
H•P | Health Points | If this value reaches 0 or lower, the character dies. If any party member dies, the game ends. |
AGL | Agility | Affects the success rate of attacks for both parties during combat. |
POINT | Action Points | Determines how much movement or attacking a character can do at once. The higher the value, the more they can move and attack. |
LEV | Level | Indicates the character's growth. (Only Atrushan and Tamryn have levels.) |
EXP | Experience Points | When the experience points reach a certain amount, the level increases by one. When the level increases, other parameters also power up according to the level. |
The second page shows the status of your possessions and equipped items. The four large lines at the top display the items currently equipped. The eight smaller items below represent the items you own.
Below that, the amount of money you have is displayed. In this world, items are bought and sold using a currency called Pulse.
The money is owned by Atrushan and represents the total amount of currency for the entire party.
Equip the weapons and armor you own. Any previously equipped items will be replaced and returned to your inventory.
Transfer items between party members.
Use the tools you own.
Some items are used during normal gameplay, while others are used in combat. Note that most items are consumed after use and cannot be used again.
You can discard unnecessary items.
The party can only carry up to 8 unequipped items. Make sure to manage your inventory carefully to avoid situations where you can’t carry new items from purchases or treasure chests.
Remove the equipped weapons or armor.
Rearrange the order of the party members displayed on the left side of the screen. This order directly affects the turn sequence during combat. Consider your strategy, such as placing magic users or party members with more action points at the front for a tactical advantage.
Set the initial party formation for combat.
Choose from the 8 pre-defined formations.
You can create and define your own original formation.
A turtle cursor will appear. Position the party members one by one by using the Return or Space key, following the order decided in the formation change. After setting all 5 members, select a formation number (1–8) to save the formation. To cancel during the setup, press the ESC key.
To apply the defined formation, you need to select it in "1) Select" Additionally, formations 1 through 4 already have pre-set data.
This is a consultation talk between party members.
The content of the talk changes as the story progresses. When you're in trouble, try consulting first?
Load the data saved with "2) Save" and resume the game from that state.
Save the current game progress to the disk. One save spot is available on the system disk, and 9 save spots are available on the user disk.
You need to create a blank disk image for the user disk in advance, such as using an emulator.
During combat, damage and other messages are displayed in a window. You can adjust the display time for these messages.
Additionally, you can press the Return or Space key to end the message display during combat.
You can change the name of the protagonist, Atrushan.
Only Hiragana, Katakana, and numbers can be entered as names.
This option is available when the game is launched from a hard disk installation.
You can quit the game and return to the command prompt, or change the user data save path.
In most cases, combat mode is triggered by a surprise attack from the enemy.
This combat mode is a turn-based real-time simulation battle where characters arranged on the field, either from your party or sometimes the enemy's side, move and attack one by one in turns.
Each character has action points, and the amount of movement or attacks they can perform at once is determined by these action points. Additionally, the equipped weapons and armor will also affect the action points.
The protagonist, Atrushan, is manually controlled and moves using the regular movement keys. By colliding with enemies, Atrushan will automatically initiate an attack.
When an attack is successful, the damage dealt to the enemy will be displayed in a window. You can continue the same attack by pressing the Return or Space key.
Other party members will automatically move and attack based on their own logic.
Here is an explanation of the menu mode during combat.
Just like the normal menu mode, you can enter the menu by pressing the ESC key or CLR key, but it will only be accepted during Atrushan's turn.
When a character is blinking in a certain pattern, it indicates that it is that character's turn.
You can switch Atrushan's actions to automatic (auto). The toggle between auto and manual is alternating.
Atrushan can direct other party members to attack specific targets.
Select who to issue the command to, and a turtle cursor will appear. Move the cursor to the enemy you want to target, then press the Return or Space key. Issuing an attack command consumes 2 of Atrushan's action points per use.
To cancel during setup, press the ESC key.
Use battle-specific items. No action points are consumed for this.
Skip Atrushan's turn.
You can choose to flee from the battle, but success is not guaranteed. The stronger the enemy, the lower the chance of escaping.
If you fail to escape, the turn will return to the enemy.
Let me introduce the weapons and armor in this world. Most of these can be bought and sold at shops.
The parameters for weapons are as follows:
Attack Power (STR) | Added to the user's base STR. This increases the damage dealt to enemies. |
---|---|
Defense Power (DEF) | Added to the user's base DEF. This helps reduce the damage taken from enemy attacks. |
Consumption Points (CSP) | The amount of action points consumed when attacking. This corresponds to the weight of the weapon. |
Range (RNG) | Allows attacks when the enemy is adjacent (1) or further away. The higher the range, the farther you can attack enemies. |
INT (ITL) | Added to the user's base INT. Equipping the weapon will affect magic success rates and resistance. |
AGL | Added to the user's base AGL. Equipping the weapon will affect the success rate of attacks. |
POINT (ACP) | Affects the base action points. Equipping the weapon will change the amount of movement and the number of attacks you can make. |
There are items that can or cannot be carried by each party member, depending on their class. The following is a general guide:
Note: The "equipable" categories in the table are a rough overview, and the actual equipable parameters in the game will apply.
Here are the party members and their respective roles:
Name | STR | CSP | RNG | ITL | AGL | ACP | Equipable |
---|
Name | DEF | ITL | AGL | ACP | Equipable |
---|
Name | DEF | Equipable |
---|
Name | DEF | Equipable |
